These graphs are similar to the ones Hadley Wickham creates
with ggplot2 in the R language.

Specifically: http://had.co.nz/vanderbilt-vis/2-large-print.pdf

With this data (>50k points) a lot of markers overlap,
and it is difficult to tell where the markers are "stacked"
on top of each other, using regular solid colored plot markers.

This example shows how to use transparent plot markers to help
gain more insight into where multiple markers are 'stacking'.

Three plots are shown, with each one being more transparent.
