Robert Allison's SAS/Graphic Examples - cd #7 Created: May, 2004 To view these examples, view the "aaaindex.htm" file in an IE browser. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Similar to my democd6 - here are some more great sas graphics examples. Most/all of these examples should work at v8.2. Here's how I chose these examples... Since so many people *love* and use Microsoft Excel graphs, I thought it would be a nice little 'test' to see if sas/graph can produce all of the types of charts that Excel can. I tried to make all the sas versions so that they very closely resembled the Excel chart gallery thumbnails ? but, of course, I also tried to make sure that the sas versions looked somewhat 'better' :-) I also added html= charttips for the sas versions, since that's something that I think Excel does not support. I wrote these examples so that they should be *very* simple to re-use the sas code, and swap in other data. I'm hoping that these will be useful in-general (as a starting place for people who want to create sas/graph charts), and also as a sales & marketing tool to show customers that we can indeed compete head-to-head with Excel graphs, and that we show very favorably against Excel - even though our GUIs for creating graphs (such as EG and graph-n-go) will probably never be as easy & popular as Excel. I recommend IE rather than netscape for viewing these graphs, because netscape does not support the html alt= flyover text, which many examples use. All of the code for these examples was written by Robert Allison. These examples (intentionally) look very much like the graphs in Microsoft Excel, but the examples and sas code used here were totally written from scratch (ie, no code was "borrowed" or "stolen" - it was all written totally from scratch by Robert Allison).
